Marks Brothers first connected with the development center in a certification class for contractors. Eventually, Marks Brothers President Nathan Marks and SBDC Director Rob Campbell collaborated to develop the business, leading to the award nomination.
“The SBDC has been a great partner to the Marks Brothers,” Marks said. “They have connected us to resources at the county, state and federal level, where we’ve received support for marketing, systems enhancement and planning for the future.”
Campbell praised the company’s evolution and adaptation to its market.
“Marks Brothers epitomizes what I would define as the American Way,” he said. “They have carved out a niche in the marketplace. They have learned to thrive by hiring a highly skilled workforce.”
Started in 1946, the company is now in its third generation of family ownership.
