No. 28 Sandy football to hit the road for opening round of Columbia Cup

Sandy football's goal is to win a playoff game this season en route to a deep run.

Sandy football is headed to a first round playoff game after a strong run through Mt. Hood Conference play.

No. 28 Sandy (4-5) will travel to play No. 21 Sunset (5-4) at Sunset High School in the first round of the Columbia Cup Friday, Nov. 3.

Also playing in the Columbia Cup bracket is fellow Mt. Hood Conference team No. 24 Barlow (4-5) who will host No. 25 Glencoe (3-6).

The Columbia Cup was created before the 2022 football season as a way to make the postseason more competitive. The top 32 6A teams are split into two brackets — the Championship division and the Columbia Cup. Both result in crowning a champion team.
