That Barlow girls soccer trophy case is overflowing, after the program received offensive player of the year, defensive player of the year, and goalkeeper of the year after a strong 2023 season.

Junior forward Katya Tercek, senior defender Kaisa Asberg, and junior goalie Kassidy Waibel all were recognized in the 2023 Mt. Hood Conference girls soccer all-league teams. That trio helped lead the Bruins to their sixth-straight league title and a postseason appearance.

“Those three brought a ton of quality and experience to the team this year,” said Barlow Coach Jay Jacobsen. “They always prepared themselves for games mentally and physically, and always gave that extra effort or big moment when we needed it most.”

The coach of the year was Central Catholic’s Lucas dePinna.

For Barlow, Tercek scored 10 goals and added 13 assists. Asberg also netted a pair of goals, and was the anchor on a defense that only allowed 14 scores to opponents all season. Another key component to that defense was Waibel, who had 7 shutouts.
