'A Nice Family Christmas' opens at SAT on Nov. 24.

Starting Nov. 24, once you’ve finished your nice, family Thanksgiving, Sandy Actors Theatre welcomes you to a performance of Phil Olson’s “A Nice Family Christmas.”

“A Nice Family Christmas” is a story of family dysfunction perfect for the holiday season, which follows the antics of a young journalist looking for a story among his own family’s interactions.

The big question that is posed by the chaos of the Christmas gathering is: “Will the family be able to reconcile through the spirit of the season?”

It’s a slice of life comedy for all ages.

Diane Etter, president of SAT’s board of directors, will direct this performance.

She pointed out about life (and dealing with family differences), that: “The grass may be greener on the other side of the fence, but it still has to be mowed.”

The show opens with a preview night at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the theater behind ACE Hardware, 17433 Meinig Ave., Sandy. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 17.

The preview night also will include a reception for the Wy’East Artisans Guild’s gallery opening of their “Ho, Ho, Ho” show.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for senior citizens and veterans and $15 for children. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at sandyactorstheatre.com Concessions are $2.
