After some early frustrations at a spring break tournament, Sandy softball uncorked a jaw-dropping performance thanks to some electric bats.

The Pioneers punctuated an appearance at the Nelson Spring Break Tournament, Monday-Tuesday, March 25-26, with a 22-7 drubbing of Franklin. That kind of victory for Sandy (4-4) was a nice showcase of what the team is capable of as Mt. Hood Conference play looms.

The other two tournament games were close losses: 14-7 to McDaniel, and 12-5 to Tualatin.
