Sandy senior Matthew Kosderka named 2024 Mt. Hood pitcher of the year

For the second season in a row, a Sandy slinger has been named the top pitcher in the conference.

Matthew Kosderka got the accolade during the 2024 Mt. Hood Conference baseball all-league selections. The Pioneers senior was a star on the mound all season, notching more than 100 strike outs in his final stretch as a high school ballplayer. That included leading Sandy past the first round of state, and nearly pulling off a second round upset alongside his teammates.

Kosderka also got the “Best Pitcher” nod as a junior in 2023.

Clackamas senior Kayle Pisano was named the “Player of the Year,” and Barlow’s Brady Burdick was named “Coach of the Year.”
