Sandy, Barlow catchers Kendall Wickizer, Peyton Trickel share first-team honors

A pair of talented Mt. Hood Conference softball catchers were among the many local athletes honored with all-league nods.

Sandy senior Kendall Wickizer and Barlow junior Peyton Trickel both were named first-team all-league catchers in the 2024 awards. The two programs combined for seven selections to the first team, along with a slew of athletes getting second-team and honorable mention kudos.

The big-three awards was swept by league-winning Central Catholic: star freshman Olivia Pompetti was “Player of the Year;” senior ace Gracie Huston was “Pitcher of the Year;” and T.J. Pruneda was “Coach of the Year.”
