Barlow girls soccer is back in the playoffs.

A trio of local 6A soccer teams will be hitting the road for the first round of the 2024 OSAA State Championships, with all three looking to snag early upsets and make deep runs into playoffs.

The Barlow boys and girls, and Sandy boys, will all be repping the region in the brackets. Here is where they are headed for the first round:

No. 17 Barlow girls (12-3) at No. 16 Glencoe (6-5-3), 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2

“We need to keep up (the) effort from everyone on the team, so come playoff time we can make a deep run,” said senior striker Katya Tercek.

“We have to want it,” added junior forward Sophia West.

No. 22 Barlow boys (9-5-1) at No. 11 Lincoln (9-4-2), TBD Saturday, Nov. 2

Making the playoffs has been a major boon for the Bruins program. The appearance snaps a 9-year postseason drought.

“There have been bumps, issues, things that have happened, but every week has been getting better and better,” said Coach Neal Bridgnell.

No. 29 Sandy boys (6-4-4) at No. 4 McMinnville (11-2-1), 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2

The Pioneers earned their spot with some gutsy final performances, including a massive 2-2 draw against Mt. Hood Conference powerhouse No. 14 Central Catholic in the penultimate match, and a 3-1 capper over Reynolds.
