The numbers for Sandy High School volleyball were gaudy against visiting Reynolds in an early Mt. Hood Conference matchup. The Pioneers servers feasted on points, a combination of well-placed strikes and some shaky digs via the Raiders.
As a team, Sandy recorded 30 aces: senior Kalysta Majerak, junior Madelyn Galstad and sophomore Jennalee Nail all had 6; senior Maia Roach had 5; junior Karlee Tankersley had 3; and juniors Jaycie Stuchlik and Anna Orlowski both added a pair.
The few (rare) times Sandy didn’t secure the point on service, strong performances lifted them, highlighted by ferocious spikes and blocks at the net from Roach and Orlowski.
